Our Story

Built on sweat equity and commitment to stewarding agricultural land, Dewey Farms has been family owned and operated since 1876. Begun in Fair Oaks, California, the original farm consisted of 180 acres of almonds, walnuts, olives and other fruit trees and supported two families for several generations. In the early 1900’s, the farm was owned and operated by Harry Dewey. Almonds and walnuts became primary crops and were marketed through California’s first cooperative, The California Almond Growers Exchange.

By the 1930’s and 40’s, the farm was run by Harry Dewey’s son, Harold J. Dewey, and continued to produce quality almonds and walnuts. Due to urban development in the Fair Oaks area in the early 60’s, the farming operation moved to Yolo, California where new orchards were planted by Harry H. Dewey and his wife, Jane.

Today, the farm has evolved to mostly pistachios, in addition to almonds and walnuts. Dewey Farms continues as a family owned and operated business; three generations currently take part in the operation and are dedicated to continuing the production and marketing of nutritious, quality nuts.
